You may download from the links in this page the RPM's required to install Lazarus on CentOs 5.x, RHEL 5.x and Suse Enterprise 10.x.
Although those systems have been updated to support the compression format of the original RPMS available on the Sourceforge download page, the update doesn't work properly and the rpm's fail to install.
The RPM's available here are nothing but a repackaging of the original RPM's, just changing the compression format. In the process the original PGP signature is lost, therefore they should be installed with --nopgpcheck.
The current version is Lazarus 1.0.8:

Note
FPC 2.6 by default sets the option build-id, which isn't
supported by
the ld version present on those systems.If you're upgrading from a previous version of fpc, your original settings are kept, so you don't have to worry. If it's a first time installation, you should modify also the file /etc/fpc.conf, commenting out the line:
-k--build-id
